Welcome!
Hey! Thanks for popping onto my blog to check out buzz-worthy beauty, design and fashion!
I'm a South Florida girl relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, with plans to raise my three children with southern hospitality and a bit of mama's Miami flair!
Growing up on the beaches of South Florida I always dreamt of meeting a good ol' country boy and settling down... that is, after I had enjoyed a life of performing on Broadway and chasing the NYC lights. However, that plan didn't quite pan out...
In 2007 right after signing with an agent in NY as a professional actor and dancer, I was in a car accident. An underage drunk driver hit my car and as a result I suffered severe spinal damage. I never made it back to NY, but a month after the accident (while still in a neck brace and on medication!) I met (for the second time) the man that would become my husband. God's plans aren't clear to me often, but in hindsight, that accident was the only way my husband and I would have reconnected... so while the lingering pain is an annoyance; it was all worth it.
My hubby is from Northern California and while I quickly convinced him to move to South Florida with me back in '07, after 10 years he had had enough of the humidity and heat. We traveled the US exploring where we would be happiest to plant roots and decided on Charlotte. We bought a house that was a complete obstacle course and with naive confidence jumped into the BIGGEST remodel of our lives! We had done some smaller flip projects in Florida and knew we enjoyed the process, so taking on a complete remodel seemed exciting. Taking the house down to the studs, convincing engineers that my ideas would work, and executing with a lot of nay-sayers and prayers was a bit difficult... but my word is it REWARDING!
We are now happily living with our 4 year old daughter, our 3 year old son, and our 1 year old son in our dream home. I'm home with my babies, enjoying this childhood time that is fleeting while also running a personal and home styling boutique. I enjoy helping my friends and neighbors in Charlotte liven up their homes and creating spaces that make them happy. I believe in color and cushions. I always encourage a neutral foundation and letting the soft goods do that talking. I'm obsessed with seasonal rugs and throws and will change the look of my entire home in a day just by swapping out those simple pieces seasonally. Thankfully, I have a supportive husband who has no creative vision but trusts me whole heartedly... and he's the smartest man I know ;)
So, here we go! Let's get talking about the good stuff!
Beauty... Design...Fashion... that's worth talking about!!
