Did ya'll do anything fun for the Fourth of July? Usually I like to stay home. I know... lame. I just am not a big fan of crowds and everywhere just seems so... crowded. But since having kids, most of whom are old enough now to remember holidays and engage in event planning, I'm forced to actually do something fun! So, we did.
We went over to our country club for their holiday bash. There were bounce houses, snow cones, live music, BBQ, face painting... the works. And then of course a huge firework show. It was beautiful, but I watched my children's faces more than the sky. My four year old has always loved fireworks-the sound never phased her and she gets so excited it rubs off on everyone around her. My three year old- totally opposite! Until now! He was so brave and was able to sit with us and watched the whole show... his eyes were so wide and a smile was glued to his face. It was magical. And then my one year old... oh, man! I covered his ears and he was in awe watching those colors burst into the sky. To see the world through the eyes of children is really breathtaking... it keeps my life on course and things in perspective! I am so glad we didn't just stay home! But... on to the other stuff...
I rocked this outfit for the Fourth of July! The dress was breezy and kept me cool in the sunshine and the shades made me feel super patriotic! This adorable bag is larger than you would think and the cherries just feel so American to me?! (We had a conversation about which was more American; apple pie or cherry pie. My vote is totally APPLE pie-- but these cherries still win my heart. =) The simple straw hat kept me from worrying about my hair and yes, those sandals were worn AGAIN! =)
